Gene Leroy Hart had escaped from prison for the second time and had been on the run hiding from police for almost 4 years. On June 12 1977, Girl Scout Camp starts in Locust Grove Oklahoma with Gene lurking closely to camp in the woods. On the very first night of Camp, Gene brutally attacks and murders three little girls shocking the community and Girl Scout association.
